My wife and I will be there the third weekend in August.
Let me know how it was.
Last year when we were there I read about a ferry boat that takes you over to some island about 45 minutes away. You stay for the day and then take the return boat in the afternoon. I can’t recall the name of the island though. Apparently, it is a regular scheduled ferry that leaves from Bar Harbor daily.
Last year we also did a sail out of South East Harbor.
That is on the southeast end of Mount Desert Island. Out side of the park. It is also home to our favorite place to eat there Beal’s Lobster Pier.
Southeast Harbor is also the home of Hinckley Yachts.
Just in case you wanted to pick out a Picnic Boat for about $1.5MM. Martha Stewart has one.
WOW, that’s off the beaten path. I imagine boat is the best way to get there.
#16 I can’t recall the name of the island though.
It is a deserted island. If you are among a group of 7 and one is named Hinckley, ask if he is a professor.
Look for a rich guy and his wife and a two sailors and a farm girl and a lady movie star. They have bad luck so best to take the next ferry...
