Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Prince of Darkness and one of heavy metal’s most iconic stars, has died. He was 76.
He died “surrounded by love,” his family said in a statement to The Sun on Tuesday. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

Ozzy was a rebel I loved who outlived most of his detractors. Dude had a strong constitution to live and die as an old man at 76.
I always think that most heavy metal people tend to be more conservative and against political correctness.
I loved playing Black Sabbath tunes when I was a young man in a band. Scared the crap out of my parents. LOL
His music didn’t hold much interest for me, but when I’d see him inerviewed he seemed like a decent guy. More so than many celebrities.

Desk tops and especially those paper covers we used to put on our books. I had all of them on there. OZZY, Sabbath, Dio, Maiden, Priest, Van Halen, ACDC, METALLICA, Slayer, Anthrax, Meagadeath, and King Diamond/Merciful Fate. Now days, it’s country. Tonight though, it’s me, my bass, beers, and Ozzy!!!

I agree. I was in various hard rock and metal bands as youngster and we definitely leaned to the right. We also hated hippies. :)

He out-lived Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. Of course, Lemmy was a bit older - but agewise, Ozzy outlived him.
And then Grunge came, and the lefties took over.
