gee...im sure the NFL will really miss you. Last year, the NFL steamed 2 REGULAR season games on Christmas Day on Netflix. There was supposedly all these boycotts that were organized....yet the ratings set all time highs...and Netflix did an excellent job on the stream. Sorry bro..the world as you know it is changing.

We'll see. There's a scandal here and there related to gambling. I think people will give up on watching professional sports entirely.

I may be wrong.

Ratings are the least of the worries CBS should have by letting him hang around as a loose cannon, as he has clearly stated he intends to do. CBS could find themselves embroiled in another costly lawsuit that scuttles the Skydance deal. Better to payoff his contract & staffers than to risk the deal. Open the Paramount film vault & show classics in the late night slot for essentially no cost with no added risk.

Is there a boycott of his sponsors?

I’ve never watched his show even one time.

His entire crpashow was TDS. And, when it became painfully obvious that it was not doing any harm and continuing to bleed $$; they kicked him to the curb.
Great.

I’m sure monetary concerns were a part of it. But if it was that alone why did they allow the show to lose that amount of money for such an extended period of time without them telling Colbert to cut his inflated staff and otherwise reduce expenses? Seems there was more to it than just that.

I figured it had to be Trump’s fault that the network was losing about $40M a year on this show. / s

The media is in the business of activism, leftist activism, NOT news or entertainment. They allowed Colbert to keep bleeding money because he resonated with their leftist base, their viewers. The network is trying to sell so they need to end the in kind contributions to dems to make their balance sheet look better.

They were okay with it because it was a cost of business dealing with crony capitalism. They realize that they're not able to bribe the Trump Administration so it is pointless to continue the show. Apparently, it was their business model but Harris had to win the election in November.

The Left rarely lets a good crisis go to waste. If Colbert were to get popped and it was made to seem that it was done by MAGA, Colbert would become a useful forever martyr for the crazies. Watch your back Stephen.

They don’t mind losing money for politics up to a point
Disney might be an exception
They will lose a LOT of money before changing course

That won't happen because they make so much money from their resorts and cruises. It won't hurt them even if 50% of America ends up boycotting them. You'll still have 150 million Americans wanting to go to Disney World.
