Hopefully they taste like actual tomatoes. The tomatoes from Mexico are just fodder with zero flavor.
That's basically what Wal-Mart and the other big chains want-- they ship better and have longer shelf life.
Here in SW Pennsylvania, you have to go to an Amish market or independent fruit stand to get the quality peaches and apples we actually grow locally. They cost a little more due to the shelf life and shipping issues.
But at least we have that choice!
We have a huge hydroponic operation nearby. Rumor was that it was in anticipation of growing marijuana but they are making a killing on tomatoes.
