“”If the narrative seems changed, it wasn’t intentional on my part. A dictator is a world leader. I don’t see the difference there, whether it is Castro or Putin or Khomeini or anybody else you care to name. It’s how they get interviews.
It’s not hard to find examples of journalists who did that.
Barbara Walters interviewd Fidel Castro
Mike Wallace interviewed Khomeni.

Ok, I guess we’re not communicating here...lol. My comment was re: naming another journalist that has interviewed or “sucked up to” a dictator ...like of an enemy nation... to the detriment of America, like Carlson did in 2024.
And yeah, there is a difference between interviewing the leader of an ally of America... and interviewing the leader of an enemy nation, like Russia. I don’t recall Walters, for instance, sucking up to Castro by praising Havanna or Cuba... while bashing America, as an example. You do see the difference here, right?
I find it highly ironic that so many “patriots” here are defending Carlson for his unpatriotic rhetoric. Especially considering the fawning applause and approval that the rabid leftists have given Carlson since then for his words of praise for Moscow. The leftists really liked what he had to say and in my experience, leftists rarely, if ever, like anything said that is actually true.
Bottom line, there are “nice” cities in America where leftists are not in control and have not trashed the place like they always do. And in those cities... unlike in Moscow... you don’t have to worry about being hauled out of bed in the middle of the night if you’ve pissed off the Putin government, dragged off to a gulag and maybe never heard from again. All the “beautiful architecture” in the world can’t make up for that “aesthetic” difference. Just sayin....
Tucker’s actual comments:
“Pundit Tucker Carlson called Moscow “nicer” than any city in the United States and praised Russian President Vladimir Putin’s governing of the massive world superpower.
“And the most radicalizing thing for me in the eight days I spent in Moscow was not just the leader of the country,” Carlson said during a recent interview at the World Government Summit, calling Putin “capable.”
“What was very shocking, very disturbing was the city of Moscow, where I’d never been … it was so much nicer than any city in my country,” he said, calling the Russian capital “so much cleaner, and prettier aesthetically — its architecture, its food, its service — than any city in the United States.”
Carlson held an exclusive interview with Putin in Russia last week, which the president used to spread propaganda about the ongoing war he is waging on Ukraine and criticize the American government.”

Every one of them sucks up to world leaders. That’s how they get interviews. Every one of the interviews I listed, you can be sure was not hard-hitting. It’s part of the conditions to not make them look bad in an interview. The moment a leader looks bad, the interview ends and all equipment gets confiscated.
Maybe Tucker was a bit biased, I don’t know. But none of the bad world leaders that I could list were criticized by the reporter in question. It’s part of the agreement they have to do interviews.
All journalists have bashed America.
Moscow is a beautiful city. I don’t know why that is a point of contention with you? Much of America was built with the brutalist architect philosophy. It’s only now that American cities are considering making their cities attractive.
The truth is that Moscow is beautiful, because it kept itself free of international influence, read: third worlders, and its architecture reflects Russian culture.
I won’t say that there are bad areas in Moscow, but undoubtedly that Putin showed Carlson the nice parts of Moscow.
As far as American journalists bashing America goes, they have always done so. You can thank Walter Cronkite for making it impossible to win Vietnam. He explicitly lied to the American people in claiming that America wasn’t winning Vietnam. America, more or less, had won Vietnam on the ground, but he lied to the American people and played his part in causing America to lose it politically.
