Mexico has a strong history in track and field at the Olympics, with notable success in racewalking. The country has won 10 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals in racewalking over the past 50 years.
In the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Mexico’s track and field athletes achieved the entry standards for Paris 2024, either by passing the direct qualifying mark (or time for track and road races) or by world ranking, in various events.
Additionally, Mexico entered nine racewalkers for the Tokyo Games, highlighting their continued dominance in this sport.

I believe I remember a newspaper article showing a photo of the Mexican race walk winner in 1968, showing the shadow of both feet above the ground at the same time.
