EV’s were tried before. About 100 years ago.
The main problems with the EV’s then was lacking of charging locations/capacity and limited range and fires.

Can’t see it happening - especially in a place like California where we travel long distances and having an EV is a major PIA (well, it is anyway).

Never mentioned, of course, is the electrical grid that is needed to charge these EVs up - just got another warning here in SoCal to keep electrical use to a minimum whenever possible b/c the grid is becoming overloaded, as it always does during the summer months.

I didn’t realize there was a subsidy for used EVs. When that goes away, won’t it adversely impact the resale value of all used EV? The depreciation of EV’s, already large, will become larger.

I don’t know what the supply of new ICE vehicles is, but I would think whatever demand there is would increase.

There’s some ol’ boy on YouTube with a wood-fired steam-engine-equipped pickup truck... kinda cool, actually. Probably no more inconvenient than an EV!
