The meat feeds locals and the hunters are basically the largest part of their economy.

White, western Leftists expect the plains blacks in Africa to run around in loincloths and hunt their food with spears instead of an easy money economy with game hunters. Clueless as always.

You’re exactly right.

Guaranteed this was a guided hunt by a black African who—

1. Kept Jay alive.
2. Is licensed by his country, and
3. is 51% (at least) responsible for Jay even getting close enough for the shot.

The guide(s) make a good living, likely far above their neighbors.

Also our guides were trained members of the anti-poaching squad and guided by day / hunted poachers by night. So they had a government salary plus the money paid by the hunting party.
