“Indian Casinos have put a huge dent in the allure of LV.”
There’s little doubt that when the Indian casinos went big into slot machine, they ate Vegas’ lunch with respect to the “old lady with a gambling problem” market. So Vegas pivoted. Instead or trying to lure in the “problem gamblers” (who were and are sensitive to room and food prices), they have focused on other markets that are less cost-oriented such as conventions/trade shows which Vegas is #1 at nationally... beating out Orlando, etc.

Overall, Vegas now targets customers who are more interested in partying than gambling.
I had a conference there about 20 years ago. It took forever to check in. They could have at least brought us a cold drink while we were standing in line.
