It’s good Laz, I’d read it.

While SciFi is not my genre of choice, it reads like it could be an exciting story.
Two things I noticed:
Most of them were single-cell organisms, based on biochemistry completely alien to those found on Earth.
The way the sentence is structured, IMO "those" should be "that"....'cause "biochemistry."
Martini finished setting up the laser drill and activated it. It began melting the ice, the water sublimating into a gas that escaped into the vacuum.
The thing about sublimation is that it is a direct transition of a solid to the gaseous state. The ice does not melt, there is no water, there is only ice and then water vapor.

Good read.
... but I hope Pedro’s not dead. :-(

Back on 12/24/2024, I posted this:
I'm only at 15,900 words.Looks like I completed the bulk of my novel in about six months, including formatting to three versions (Kindle, paperback, and hardcover) and getting it self-published.... WHILE excelling at a 60-hour-a-week job, AND taking a graduate college course (one per semester), AND keeping a fiancรฉe happy.
Six months for a whole novel. That's Steven-King-level output. Unsure I can match that output for the second novel.
But I shall try. ๐๐๐

My copy is on the way. I'll be sitting out on the front porch in my rocker, sipping at a glass of tea and reading away! I'm well into my own dystopian SciFi book "Han's Journey", and this has inspired me to resume that work this week.
BTW, the reviews are absolutely AMAZING!
Regarding the sequel, you had me at "helmet cracked open"!
