The anatomy of both natural and manmade disasters need to be unpacked so that improvements can be made in the future regarding prevention and response. Weather cannot be controlled, but infrastructure can be.

(ERCOT stands for Electric Reliability Council of Texas.)

During the February 2021 winter storm, [natural gas] transmission companies inadvertently cut power to parts of the natural gas supply chain when ERCOT ordered the utilities to reduce power demand or risk further damage to the grid. That decision aggravated the problem as natural gas producers were unable to deliver enough fuel to power plants.

That can't be right. They cut power to the natural gas compressors that fed gas-fired generation plants? Nobody is THAT stupid!

Why are you posting anything from the leftist Texas Tribune, let alone something written 3 years ago? One might suspect you have a secret agenda.

The push to Green Energy caused the TX power problem.
Most States buy power from others during an over usage excursion.
The way it was setup by non-engineers, it was impossible for TX to buy power from other states.
If you want to create a future problem, call a politician.
If you want it done correctly, call an engineer.

The same people who are responsible for the flash flood warnings, or the response to Uvalde.

And ERCOT is a nasty system that is an electric version of ENRON. And the Texas Repub whores sold out on solar and windmills for the tax breaks and killed their coal industry.

Back in the Reddy Kilowatt days of Texas Power and Light, there was no such thing as a blackout unless the storm blew down a line or something.

But after the pigs on Austin created the electric reliability council of Texas, electricity became expensive and in short supply.

ERCOT has board members from up north in Minnesota, and even has Germans on it. It just another globalist method of mining money from consumers.

It should be the EUCOT = Electric Unreliability Council of Texas.

As I recall, the problem with the gas was that there is a lot of water in the gas which is separated out before mid-stream transmission. The water in the lines from the wells froze because the power was cut.

Oncor issued me a new smart meter shortly after power was restored. Apparently their attempts to cut my power in the rolling blackouts failed because the meter didn’t cut me off as they wanted.

What efforts are you pushing for CALIFORNIA to fix their fire prevention and earthquake safety measures?

Seems like you have your work cut out, in CA, with all of the issues with storms, fires, homeless druggies, etc ....might be best to focus on your state.

No one has been fired for the brush fires in Pacific Palisades and the Eaton Fire except for the lesbian fire chief who stated that fire trucks and firemen were not dispatched quick enough or that 70+ trucks were in for repair.

The mayor and governor still have jobs and 6 months after the fires only 1 house is being built. Those two are delaying the rebuilding hoping to wait out the owners of the land so tall apt buildings can be built instead of single family homes.
