Earlier today, my wife and I were reflecting on the relative youth of our nation compared to others around the world. True, by name it is one of the youngest, and by every measure the greatest.

But on further thought, it is actually one of the oldest nations that have survived and prospered under a continuously practiced form of government. Since our independence, most European nations have convulsed through revolutions, monarchies, coups, or other political upheavals; therefore they are not as old because they have not been anchored to such a moral and revered set of founding documents to guide them.
