If a pilot listens to anyone, it's on the pilot, not the other person. It's a U.S. regulation, not Chilean, but this pilot knew from his training that it's on him:
Title 14 / Chapter I / Subchapter F / Part 91 / Subpart A / ยง 91.3 Responsibility and authority of the pilot in command.
(a) The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly responsible for, and is the final authority as to, the operation of that aircraft.
