Why the One Republican Who Voted Against Advancing the Reconciliation Bill Looks Really Dumb Right Now (Passed 219-213)
Townhall ^ | 7/3/2025 | Matt Vespa

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) is the party goober right now. He was part of a five-vote bloc that was against advancing the reconciliation package that cuts taxes, kicks illegals off Medicaid, and secures our border. He was willing to set fire to all of that, all of President Trump and the GOP’s top domestic action items over Ukraine war funding. I’m not kidding:

He voted and then disappeared for the remainder of Wednesday night. In the end, the four other ‘no’ votes—Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Victoria Spartz (R-IN), Keith Self (R-TX), and Andrew Clyde (R-GA)–all fell in line with the eight or so other holdouts.

Fitzpatrick Post on X:

"Today, I called on the President to address my serious concern regarding reports the United States is withholding critical defense material pledged to Ukraine. This comes as Russia launches the largest aerial assault since the war began, firing over 500 weapons at civilian targets in a single week.

Ukrainian forces are not only safeguarding their homeland—they are holding the front line of freedom itself. There can be no half-measures in the defense of liberty. We must, as we always have, stand for peace through strength.

I have formally requested an emergency briefing from the White House and the Department of Defense to clarify these reports, review our nation’s weapons and munitions stockpiles, and ensure the United States remains fully committed to providing Ukraine with the resources it urgently needs to defend its people and preserve the cause of freedom."

The vote on the rule to advance the legislation was 219-213. Fitzpatrick was the only Republican to side with House Democrats.

"Yes, and many of them are in his district in Bucks County. These are recent immigrants, coming here in the 1990’s when the Soviet Union collapsed. And the majority are leftwing Jewish."

And yet Fetterman rose to Senator from Bucks County hmm....

We’re “blessed” to live in Fitzpatrick’s district. As others have said “follow the money”.

There are MANY Ukrainians (and ironically, Russians as well) in Bucks County & surrounding areas. We have had 3 families recently move in on our small block. How they get the money to buy/renovate houses that run ~ $500 to 600 K and also own brand new vehicles is a good question. I believe that they are sponsored by a group (most likely with NGO $$$$) in a very liberal area in neighboring Montgomery County.

I would not be surprised to find that Ukrainian “laundry” has made its way into Brian’s bank accounts.

If they don’t primary him with a viable candidate (not another Dr. Oz type please), I will be most disappointed.

Brian Fitzpatrick has worked in Kyiv, Ukraine. As part of his role as a supervisory special agent at the FBI, he was stationed in Kyiv. He also worked in Mosul, Iraq and Washington, D.C. He was embedded with U.S. Special Forces in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Representative Brian Fitzpatrick is a former FBI agent who was sent to Ukraine in 2015 to help that country crack down on corruption. He was recruited into the impeachment inquiry on whether President Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate political rival Joe Biden and his son is the topic here in Washington.

Fitzpatrick wants more money to Ukraine so Zelinskyy can pocket more. Sorry, Americans are fed up with spending money on other people’s wars. We are in debt, we need to cut spending!!

Thankfully I don’t live in Pennsylvania. I was lucky enough last summer for Elise Stefanik to become our district Rep. They added my City to her district. I voted for her the first time last November, only to find out Trump had nominated her for UN Ambassador. I’m glad she’s back...at least for now.

I may disagree with Fitz, but he did calculate his vote. No way he votes if this was close. Sadly, his district is full of hard working husbands with shrill Karen ingrate wives.
