I guess it’s not too much different from an expensive bridal registry. I don’t think I’ve ever given a $500 wedding gift though.

Too many want to get married but not be married. Big weddings often lead to short marriages.

This is on top of the bridal registry, I'm sure.

Mrs. Eagle and I are lucky (and thankful) that our kids either eloped or had simple Justice of the Peace Weddings. We just ponied up for the lunches or dinners afterwards plus a little cash as a gift.

Hopefully the grandkids who are getting that age will follow in their footsteps.

Screw the registry, though. We'll give them cash and they'll like it.

If they don't, we have a very simple return policy.
