That’s a very interesting question. Russia is dangerous but for sure Putin is the biggest F up on the world stage.
Ever deal with criminals? They don’t think like “normal” people and they don’t understand or care about the consequences of their actions to themselves or others.
That’s what makes them pathetic and dangerous at the same time.

Both: Ukraine is huge and has a large population. It can run a defense-in-depth strategy because it has the depth.
Any of the Baltic states could be crossed by vehicle in less than a day, have small populations and large Russian minorities of dubious loyalty. Even Poland is only 400 miles wide.
