This isn't helpful. I love Musk's passion and with him on this issue (surprise!)

And if Elon is serious - and I think he probably is - his third party will split the GOP vote I’m afraid and hand Dems victories in many places.

Careful what you wish for, Freepers... !

You really are coming across as a cheerleader for anyone who opposes President Trump. How is that helpful?

Childish Trump response.

That's because you and Elon don't understand politics, have NO idea about getting Bills passed, and like spoiled 2 year olds, want what you want....NOW, or they throw a tantrum.

Dems always get everything they want;with stupid GOPers ( re damned RINOS and the mentally ill ), they'd rather get NOTHING, than some of what they want.

Half a loaf is better than NONE...as the old saying goes.

I saw the little news conference and don’t believe Trump was being at all serious.
The deportation line was the result of a reporter suggesting it.
Trump was being playful.

Trump clearly dd NOT threaten to deport Musk.
You can't deport legal citizens, especially ones like Musk on who America depends for taking US astronauts to the SpaceStation.
This was a deliberate leading question by fake news media who hope Musk will create another party and split Republican votes which will work fine for Democrats.
Teddy did that with the Bull Moose Party just over a 100 years ago. Not going to happen again.

Its embarrassing for both. I would really hope they are screwing around, but if they are, they have me fooled.

““We'll have to take a look,” Trump said. “We might have to put DOGE on Elon.”

Is NOT equal to we are going to deport Musk.
It simply implies they might reduce subsidies Trump thinks Musk's companies get using DOGE.

This is not good. I thought that perhaps it was a game between the two to reel in the Democrats into doing something stupid, but it looks like it might be the real thing.

I value the friendship of these two men, who each have a problem with being discreet, in addition to holding their tongues (even in private) . . . regarding their disagreements.

Both fellows have made clear, what their concerns are re the budget. President Trump is leaning toward "growth is going to pay off," while Elon Musk is a bit more interested in "cutting costs."

Both fellows seem to mostly agree re cutting the size and some of the wickedness (disguised as "care" and "DEI") of the federal principality.

I wish that these guys would focus on being well-behaved leaders - setting good examples. Skip the smash-face utterances (that are too common, here at FreeRepublic.com).

IMHO

Trump wants unlimited funds to be donated from the rich to political campaigns. If the USSC allows that then it will give Elon a ton of power no matter where he is.

Rand Paul is an embarrassing, self-aggrandizing waste of a US Senate seat.

When working as a team, one should seek out wins and know there will be some losses. His "all or nothing" approach serves nobody but himself.

This is the problem with so many "on the spectrum". I've hired a couple over the years, and they were always a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. Once they are triggered, there is NO reasoning with them. Musk got triggered. Like most "on the spectrum" reasoning or the "big picture" won't work with Elon.

Trump is being particularly nasty and foolish with the deportation threat. Musk is a naturalized citizen ... Like his first wife Ivana ... Like his current wife Melania. Would he like Melania to live under such a threat? He won’t be president forever. He shouldn’t go there.

I wish these two would make up, but if he hasn’t gone after Hillary or Soros yet, he’s got no business going after Elon.

This whole Trump / Musk Feud is foolish and juvenile..

Like two bulls fighting in a field, and not even over who gets to mount the cutest cows or who get the nicest patch of grass to eat.

At least Musk has backed off a couple of times, and tried to calm things down. But Trump seemingly can’t ever forgive or forget a slight, real or imagined.
