At nearly 70 years and atherosclerosis, I have cut back on meat by at least 70%.

And I’m still able to get my 120gr of balanced protein (I exercise a lot) in less than 2,000kcals per day.
Even though I eat more than that lol

There’s nothing wrong with red meat.

But burgers and hot dogs are so loaded with saturated fat, they’ll kill ya. Hot dogs being a special kind of deadly.

And I love hot dogs.

As a vascular surgeon, let me humbly admit that we have all been fed lies regarding animal fats and cholesterol. Atherosclerosis is an inflammatory condition caused mainly by carbohydrates (via hyperglycemia and insulin resistance), seed oils and smoking. The cardiology societies have admitted this, stating that dietary intake of animal fats and cholesterol are not a significant factor in atherosclerosis. But, change takes time especially with the old guard. 1.5 years on the carnivore diet, BTW.
