Muslims affect politics far beyond their population. The changes start at about 5%, which is probably about where NYC is right now, though they’re likely more than double that in their public schools. NYC has close to a quarter of all the US’s Muslims, and the changes tend to become dramatic at the 10%, 15%, and over 15% levels.
But no, I wasn’t anticipating such a show of force in the City in 2025.
I’ve been driving around NYC for forty years. But in the past year or so the number of fully burka clad women visible has skyrocketed. That is not hyperbole.
