You can use the free app “Yuka” to read the barcode of any processed food. It will rate that food from 0 to 100. It will give an explanation of its reasoning and list the additives in the food. It will give details on each additive, whether it is OK or harmful. Then you can make an informed decision about what you want to eat.

Thanks for the info, but do you have to register to get in their site. Seems like you can’t go anywhere anymore without signing into the site.

Your mention of Yuka is an example of why comments are a great part of FR. My Quest bar was only rated 30 and Yuka recommended the blueberry RxBar at 80. Interestingly my next item to eat was an RxBat, chocolate at 51.

Looks like a good app, although I don’t care about salt and want more because I exercise outside a lot, and don’t buy the anti-saturated fat thing, but consider excess seed oils (alpha lipoic acid) far worse.
