I look at this in a much different way. Let both sides declare victory and move on. It allows them to save face with their own people and hopefully helps and encourages them to continue to find a way to long term peace.

Pay attention to the following news item published on the official channel of the Al-Sharaa Government Spokesperson’s Office (spokesperson Muhammad Al-Faisal).
The report stated that Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara visited “the (Syrian) Golan Heights and Quneitra” and listened to the residents’ complaints, including about Israeli military activity in the area.
Then the announcement read: “The president confirmed the need to act to stop the attacks through indirect negotiations through international mediators.”
As you may recall, in recent months there have been quite a few reports of direct negotiations between Israel and Syria. Now the Syrian government itself has partially confirmed the news and said that indirect negotiations are taking place.
