President Trump's political operation has launched an aggressive effort to unseat Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, its first such effort to defeat a sitting Republican incumbent, Axios has learned.
Why it matters: By going after Massie, Trump's team is looking to put wayward Republicans on notice that they're ready to play hardball.
Massie has attacked Trump over his strike on Iran, saying on X that it was "not Constitutional," prompting the president to fire back on Truth Social that the congressman is "not MAGA." He also called Massie "weak, ineffective" and "disrespectful to our great military, and all that they stand for."
Massie was one of two House Republicans to vote against Trump's "big beautiful bill" last month, leading Trump to declare that he should be "voted out of office."
Zoom out: Trump's $500 million political apparatus is the most powerful, well-funded force in American politics — and gives Trump a weapon with which to target any lawmaker who crosses him.

loonatarians can only hide for so long.
I think Massie is auditioning for a RHINO spot on CNN or MSNBC. There’s good money in being a traitorous Republican.
But he’s not a RINO he is one of the most conservative members of the House
You just measure by a different definition i.e If he’s aligned with Trump
A loonararean telling me what a conservative is? Spare me.
It’s Donald Trump who is deviating from core values not Thomas Massie
And can you quit with the “Losertarian”/Loonitarian jibes it’s quite childish!
What are your main beefs with Massie?
I live across the river from Kentucky.
There is an old joke that Indiana and Ky had a little known war 50 years ago or so.
Kentuckians started launching sticks of dynamite across the Ohio and the Hoosiers woukd light them and throw them back.
🫣🤣

Seriously I can’t pick sides as I lived 90+% of my life in Indiana but was born in Louisville.
Here is his voting record. One thing I noticed is he voted for and against the same bill a few times, not sure why (maybe different versions???):

I did notice he has voted for most immigration control measures.
Hint: immigration is my usual beef with libertarians, but Massie looks to be really strong on the issue:

“Disloyal is worse than being a democrat i suppose”
Disloyal? He’s a democrat taking up a republican seat.
If most of the republicans are RINOs democrats- how can pro US things get done
HOORAY President Trump!
Massie and Rand are okay with violating the Art. 1, Sec. 5, quorum requirements of the U.S. Constitution.
Liber-loonatics have taken over Free Republic. Sad.
Agree in public, disagree in private. He is a grandstanding idiot being used by the MSM.
Massie is a typical libertarian putz: a slogan for every issue but no solutions.
Would be pretty awful for elected officials to tell their constituents one thing and hold a completely different actual opinion.
But I agree on the grandstanding.
Importantly, I also disagree with him on tariffs being vital in our current situation:

Tariffs are the long solution to economic decline.
They are the quickest solution to getting our critical supply chains back from our worst enemy.
