Part of me thinks Trump is using his showmanship to advantage. He’ll stop short of selling seats to watch, but anticipation is building.

A limited mission of dropping those MOABs is the right thing to do, IMO, for a variety of reasons.

Normally I'd agree. But the aircraft clearly aren't going to be shot down over the U.S., and there is value in the Iranians seeing the windup before the punch needs to be thrown.

If you want to bring maximum pressure on them, letting them know the bombers may be coming is one way of doing that. After all, an F-22 escort over the U.S. seems a bit ostentatious, as if they want word to get out.
