I have a couple friends whose husbands are as worried as she is. But the opposite way— right wing media has them wound up and panicked. It can happen at either end of the political spectrum.
I think there are just folks who get into a real, miserable rut.
I think if your worldview does not include a healthy dose of hope and faith you are doing it wrong.
... plus a healthy dose of skepticism. I'm a conservative but skeptical of all politicians. As Reagan said, Trust but verify. I'd be extremely worried myself if more and more Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, etc., were switching to become Democrats. Fortunately, because of all the ongoing Democrat Disasters throughout our nation, the party switching seems to be in the opposite direction. And many of the youngest Americans are avoiding the Democrat Party too. I'm generalizing of course but the trend is starting to look a little better.
