I've heard that a weak dollar is good, because it means foreigners can buy more of our stuff, and spend more tourist dollars here, which is good for our economy.
Don't know if that's true.

A lower USD means that USA citizens must pay more to purchase foreign goods and pay more when they travel to foreign countries.
