But some time in the last 15 years or so they (and DQ) went to taking the burgers and keeping them in a warming tray where they get dried out.
I've not tried it, but supposedly you can order a burger "O.B." meaning off the broiler.
So it would still be juicy.

Then you order a sandwich and they make it up fresh, which should be great right? Except the burger meat has cooled down enough it doesn’t even melt the cheese!
