It is common now for the cast to be so diverse and the roles so unlike what we know in real life that the incongruities make it impossible to be absorbed into the movie.
It is similar to when an older movie had a large cast and no main characters are focused on and we don’t know who is who because we can’t keep up with all the names and we just give up on the confusing mess, critics pan those movies for that flaw.

You’re exactly right. I spend my time picking out the misplaced black character, trying to muddle through the 120 female beating the crap out of five trained, 200 pound males, and, worst of all, hoping they don’t throw in a homosexual character because that’s an automatic “I’m out”.
