The top US military commander for the Middle East says he has presented US President Donald Trump with military plans to strike Iran and is prepared to do if so ordered.
“I have provided the secretary of defense and the president a wide range of options,” Central Command head Gen. Michael Kurilla says during testimony before the House Armed Services Committee.
Kurilla was responding to Representative Mike Rogers of Alabama, the chairman of the committee, who asked if CENTCOM was prepared to respond with overwhelming force if Iran does not permanently give up its nuclear ambitions.
“I take that as a yes?” the Alabama Republican asks, after Kurilla responds.
“Yes,” Kurilla says.

Exactly. There’s always plans in place, continuously being reviewed and modified as needed to deal with pretty much any potential problem with countries like Iran.
There are plans to invade our allies as well, even antartica has a folder somewhere they would have to dust off, but it is there along with Canada, Ireland, Bolivia, Italy etc.
I was told it’s good practice for multiple aspiring Intel officers to create them in groups independently for learning and then have them all compared with a finalized plan saved for “Just in Case”.

He is *outgoing* CENTCOM commander. Adm. Cooper up next. CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) includes the Middle East (including Egypt in Africa), Central Asia and parts of South Asia; *not* Ukraine, China or Mexico.
There are always plans being made. You do not task the moving parts in an attack like that in an hour. So, the planning is constant.
And I am sure there are A, B, C, and D versions.

Right... and if Iran is assuming otherwise, they're beyond stupid: none of this should come as a surprise to them.
That said, there's also a chance that such a public statement might elicit a reaction from Tehran... like increased activity/movement/fortifications at certain sites that we'd like to see -- perhaps even a site or two that we _don't_ already know about.
There's always a reason for doing things... well, unless the Democrats are in charge and they say something classified just to give aid to the enemy.

He's trying to avoid that, yes... as any (good) leader should. But he's also not gonna cave and let Iran develop a nuclear weapon, either. The line's been drawn. This President is not going to allow it to be stepped over. Period.
