I hope prosecutions follow this.

I do not believe there will be any prosecutions. Not even firings. Congressional hearings are merely theatrical productions.

You don't start prosecutions with announcements. You start them with indictments and arrests. That is how the Democrats do things, and it works very effectively. The Republicans must learn from their enemies. Time is running quite short.

I did a quick search...

“Yes, there is a statutory limit on prosecuting someone for lying to Congress. The statute of limitations for making false statements under 18 U.S.C. § 1001 is five years from the time the statement was made or submitted, according to Burnham & Gorokhov. This means that if a false statement is made to Congress, the government has five years from that point to initiate a prosecution.”

If it was 2019, long past the limit.
