@RepThomasMassie
The house has a 72 hour rule which requires the bill to be posted 72 hours before passage.
BUT the Speaker circumvented this rule with a “managers amendment” that re-wrote and added substantial portions of the bill as it went through the rules committee the night the bill was passed.
There’s another House rule which requires a day to pass before voting on a bill after the rules committee has modified it.
Would you believe the House voted to suspend that so-called “same day rule”?! 😳
This means the final language of the bill was released only a few minutes before debate began. The vote on the rule change and the vote on the bill followed within a couple of hours.
Elon is right, members of congress didn’t even know what was in this bill until the night it passed. A few other members have also made this clear.

Maybe that is the plan??
Sounds like every other bill passed in the last 100 years.
>>members of congress didn’t even know what was in this bill until the night it passed.
“You have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.”
Massie has never had one piece of legislation he sponsored pass into law. The guy is a useless eater.
Right out of Animal Farm. "All animals are equal. But some animals are more equal than others. "
Massie may not be your favorite guy, but this is important, and something to keep a sharp eye on. Massie may be doing the MAGA movement the biggest favor ever by pointing this out.
This is what the Senate is for? Exactly this.
Put the brakes on .
The “Truth Detector” just went off.
So Rep Massie... what's in the Amendment that you don't like, other than the number of hours you have to read it?
(Once upon a time, there was a very different answer to that question... but then the Progressives destroyed the Senate with the 17th Amendment.)
Nothing in DC will change until Congre$$ becomes Congress once more.
The Trump bill is not beautiful
At this point no agency even knows what they are spending on what? Just "Feed Me,plus 20%" omnibus mayhem at the last minute. "Hey it wasn't our fault we had no idea that was in the bill!". Shysters.
The Senate will show that
And the ensuing debate
1100 page bill....What were these monumental changes?
Perhaps. And if so, it was wrong all those years as well. Perhaps that the point you were making.
Probably 1/2 of the senate and the house are oldsters with various oldie mental deficiencies. Even if they read a bill, they likely wouldn’t understand it. They vote however the “leadership” tells them to vote. Pathetic.
Winston Churchill’s quote about democracy: “Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…”.
They passed the “Federal Reserve Act” in the dead of night on Christmas Eve (illegally some say) circa 1913
He’s right about it going on a long time but it’s no more palatable
