Fine. Throw a hissy fit, destroy the path forward like Rand Paul is trying to do.
No matter how much grandstanding is done the path to fixing the deficit is not spending cuts although they will be part of the answer. The path is through growth and for that we need the BBB. Anything else is a pipe dream and worse that a pipe dream it is poison for the chance to advance and grow our way out of the deficit. The momentum to change the course of the Country must be seized or it will wither & pass by.
Rand Paul is a designed in controlled opposition. He knows it. He enjoys being the empty tin can making all the noise. It’s an easy paycheck to be correct and ineffective. The local tavern near me is full of correct yet ineffective people. I think that’s our trade here on FR.
Paul knows the MSM only brings him on the criticize Trump. The only reason, still Rand books the media trip and flies to Studios.
Paul wasn’t on TV criticizing Joe.
The Republicans backed every single Woke Spending Bill for Joe. In four years, they only stood up to one border bill late in Biden’s term. Joe got $$$, Judges, nominees, and the works. Republican Votes (Massie) lifted the Debt Ceiling for the Dems piggy bank raid. Predictably, after spending like Drunk Sailors and funding every crazy woke scheme, they now say, wait, we can’t do this.
I can only say one nice thing about the worthless GOPe, they haven’t elected directly a president from the senate in over a century.
From your article.
It’s also the case that the government accumulated $7.8 trillion of gross federal debt while President Trump was in office, though much of this is unrelated to President Trump’s actions.
However, much of this borrowing was due to policies put in place before President Trump took office or due to unexpected changes in circumstance. Debt was already projected to grow by about $3 trillion for the four years of his term when President Trump took office, and some of the additional debt accrued was also the direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic and recession. It’s also important to note that the government was holding an unusually large $1.6 trillion in cash when President Trump left office, which inflated the growth in debt relative to the deficit run during his time in office.
Rand Paul has already been to Iowa. Guess why? now he’s trying to get his face on any show or get publicity anyway he can. Jerk.
Rand Paul <—> Jeb Bush
once bitten, twice shy. The last time we had a chance to put this nation on a path to fiscal sanity was when Clinton and Gingrich agreed to cut spending and raise taxes. That only led to ‘progressives’(R&D) coming up with cockamamie ideas to spend the increased revenue.
Obama explained the US Constitution was a ‘charter of negative liberties’. It listed the what the government couldn’t do to you, but it doesn’t explain what the government can do for you. The benefits of .gov is only limited by liberal imaginations. They don’t worry about failure because they have the force of government to cause citizenry to pay for it. When they cry, “Tax the Rich”, we know that the duty will fall on us.
I don’t blame you for being shy.
I’m a bottom line person.
If not Trump’s plan of growth, spurred by decreased taxation, infrastructure spending, tariffs for $ and to strengthen and re-shore America’s industry, reduced regulation and ENERGY, than what plan do we have.
The same old “cut spending”, which with the current and every past crop of Government/Congress, doesn’t work. It’s like rearranging chairs on the Titanic.
Absolutely reduce/eliminate spending on non essentials, eliminate fraud, misuse etc. All great and necessary otherwise no amount of growth will save us. But the 1st imperative is to turn the ship around not just tidy it a bit. That’s where Paul & his ilk are missing the boat. They just want to posture with no real plan or hope of making a change. Sounds good is enough to get donations & name recognition.
