Biden Thought that Russia Should be Destroyed — Brazilian Leader

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva noted that "Europe, which held a middle-ground position for some time, finally sided with Washington and now is spending billions to rearm itself"

PARIS, June 3. /TASS/. Former US President Joe Biden, while in office, said he wanted Russia to be destroyed, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said in an interview with French newspaper Le Monde.

Commenting on the situation in Ukraine, the Brazilian leader said that at first he had condemned Russia’s special military operation. He stressed however that "Western countries also bear part of responsibility."

"Joe Biden, whom I talked to about this at length, thought that Russia should be destroyed. And Europe, which held a middle-ground position for some time, finally sided with Washington and now is spending billions to rearm itself. That concerns me. If you keep speaking only about war there will never be peace," he said.

He also stated his readiness to support peace talks between Russia and Ukraine and recalled that back in 20024 Brazil along with China and 11 other countries had offered a peace settlement plan.

If we were neighbours, you would not believe my words that I meant you no harm if I piled up my armaments along the fence line and had it pointed to your house.

Please, when were NATO weapons "piled" at Russia's border? Russia ALWAYS had more troops and tanks "piled" on its side.

Most European countries were not spending the required 2% for NATO.

Most US troops and tanks were stationed in Germany, which is not the Russian border.

And the expectation is that we can pile up our weapons, but they can’t. There was no other reason to expand NATO than to allow us to pile up our weapons.

The US military is ALL OVER Poland and Romania.

NOW. AFTER Putin invaded Ukraine. There were basically no US troops there the years BEFORE Putin invasion of Ukraine.

Our weapons were mostly in Germany, FAR FROM THE RUSSIAN BORDER.

RUSSIAN WEAPONS WERE ON UKRAINES BORDER and they used them to invade Ukraine.

See the difference?

There was no other reason to expand NATO

ONCE AGAIN. Finland is a perfect example. 20% of Finland was seized by the Russians in WW2 with Finland forced to sign a neutrality agreement.

As the leader of Finland would you continue to rely on those agreements after Putin shredded all his agreements with Ukraine to honor its borders or would you quickly join NATO?

Thats the reason NATO has expanded, Russia with Putin is a threat to its neighbors, to their very existence.

Until 2014, Russia wasn’t a threat. It wanted to talk and we told them they were on their own.

We would have been smarter to talk to them and the whole Ukraine war, if our leaders were really trying to avoid that, would have been avoided.

The Soviet Union is modern Russia. Two different beasts.

NATO didnt’ need to expand to protect them. We would have only had to tell Russia to leave them alone or else.

Tell that to the Georgians who lost 20% of their land to the Russians.

We would have only had to tell Russia to leave them alone or else.

Really, we could tell Putin to leave Ukraine "or else"?

You assume too much when you say the Marxist Lula speaks the “truth”.

I'm making no statement on the "truth" of his words. When I wrote "You can doubt the truth of Lula's words...." I'm saying you can doubt whether his words are true. Sorry for taxing your rudimentary comprehension skills.

Le Monde is a Leftist venue and going all the way back to Reagan’s time known for presenting views close to the Kremlin’s.

My point was simple; the interview was not commissioned, conducted or published by TASS. You wrote "TASS = Pravda", as if TASS had invented the whole thing.

Yes, I think so. We could have talked to him to find out how we can accommodated him and backed up the accommodation with the promise of military retaliation if he used the accommodation imperialistically.

TASS/Pravda is relaying what was said in the Leftist rag Le Monde BECAUSE it - Leftist Lula - fits/presents the TASS/Pravda line. If it didn’t, they wouldn’t.

Sorry, you don’t know what the hell you are talking about.
I know for a fact that the US military has been in Poland and Romania for years before the US/UK war with Russia.

Right, and the small units that were there were a serious invasion threat to Russia? Please

Can we agree that TASS did not fabricate this interview?

Yes, I think so. We could have talked to him to find out how we can accommodated him

Before Putin invaded Ukraine, he demanded NATO withdraw from eastern Europe: Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, etc leaving all those countries under Russian "sphere of influence".

There we go. Such a move would have been inconsequential, because we could have always come back in force, or with missiles, if Russia moved to take those nations over.

Russia was probably his name for the load in his pants.
Biden had no idea what was going on in the world.

That's silly, what US president is going to send US soldiers 5,000 miles to fight a nuclear armed Russia for Estonia?

We got tired of sending Ukraine JUST weapons, with NO US casualties.

Go ahead, tell me that we wouldn’t mind Chinese or Russian military and/or intelligence operations on our borders.
