n bookstores is a very expensive, beautifully bound in green leather Holy Koran. If one was going to give a gift to someone, like a president, a senator, a judge, a Pope or any other high "ranking" person in society, it is what you would buy.

Every page was in Arabic on the left side, and English on the right. The English side was just like the other modern ones sold in the USA, all the "bad" stuff left out so one would think it is a "religion of peace".

I have a non Muslim friend who is fluent in spoken and read Arabic. I asked him to come to the bookstore with me, because I was too cheap to buy the book.

I pointed out the sura I mentioned, and a few others, plus there were some he was familiar with he wanted to check. (he had spent quite a few years in Saudi-Arabia as a civilian). I have never seen the expression that came on his face before. Absolute shock.

He had only seen true versions before too. He said, "My God, they are two different books". I remember those exact words. I don't remember the rest of his comments word for word, but he went on to say, that this explains why so many people in our government have the wrong idea about Islam.

Every non Muslim (infidel) needs to read a true translation of the Holy Koran. Then they might understand why this is happening and why it will never stop happening.

Western leaders make the mistake of thinking everyone else in the world thinks the way we do and is motivated by the same things.

Most Muslims in particular, don't and aren't.

IMHO these are probably the most accurate translations, and they are FREE.

Agreed. I read the Koran and some hadiths shortly after 9/11 and it was a very violent book. I can't remember if it was the gutenberg version. Or it may have been that all translations were more accurate before the post-9/11 brainwashing of Islam being a religion of peace.

I was surprised that it was so violent. I went into thinking I'd cut Islam a little slack like I'd like non-Christians to cut Christianity some slack if they read the Bible. For example, don't judge Christianity because some Bible heroes like David sinned both sexually and had a guy killed -- it's about Jesus not David. And I also wouldn't judge Islam if I read in the Koran that Muhammad was an evil person before some conversion moment (think about how we treat Paul as a hero).

I was thoroughly surprised at how violent Muhammad himself both was and taught his followers to be. There was no "Old Testament" divided away from the "New Testament" (like us Christians setting aside some doctrine from the Old Testament's eye-for-an-eye to be replaced by the New Testament's turn-the-other-cheek). In the Koran itself Muhammad said it was cool to rape non-Muslim women as long as they're not Muslim, not married to a Muslim, your right hand possesses her (which I think means she's not someone else's sex slave), and she's old enough to menstruate. At another point when his followers, in a similar manner, said that they'd been away from their wives for a while and wanted to rape the captured men (treat them as eunuchs). Muhammad gave them permission to do so (they can't be Muslim, your right hand possesses them, you have to be the aggressor not the passive, which I think in modern gay lingo means be top not bottom, and by the way there was no age restriction like there is for raping women).

Islam is the best religion for murderers and rapists who want to pretend that God digs that stuff.
