I’ve been to Putin’s police state Russia. Visited Russia’s neighbors and talked to people with family members exiled and buried in Siberia. This is real life for them. Not an armchair Sunday read.

Russian chauvinists of Putin’s ilk absolutely think Ukraine is part of Russia and Ukrianians who seek an identity separate from the filth of Russia are just really bad Russians. And they are more than happy to destroy as much of Ukraine as necessary and mass murder anyone who disagrees. This is modern face of Nazism. Perhaps you should “read up” on that.
