.10 oz gold - again fractional currency. Somewhat same as the 1 gm break away card. Is it necessary to be doing that now in Alaska?

Not necessary, but it is useful.

The vast majority of daily transactions are just like everywhere else - credit cards and cash, e-transfers etc. But we never buy meat or fish and seldom buy eggs. We use dollars where we have to, barter where we can.

We have an animal care business. Most of our friends and customers are in commercial fishing...
