I remember that, too. There was the suggestion that anyone acquiring it was probably engaged in illegal activities.

It feels like warp speed is about to hit crypto insofar as acceptance and implementation of it as a means of exchange.

I understand the reluctance to acquire crypto if it is only accessible digitally. But, if the net goes down, nothing processed online will be useable to purchase anything, etc. I guess merchants could accept checks if they know their customer and trusted their bank.

Then, I guess it would be time to barter. Gold and silver coins/bars, depending on how many, are potentially heavy stuff to carry around. And the hems on most of our garments are pretty thin these days.

Not saying it isn’t possible. There are plenty of ways to carry coins. I’m just thinking of how heavy a couple dollars of coins can be. Way back I would occasionally have a roll of nickels in my purse, to help feed the parking meter. Or if I needed to use a phone booth.

Now, between a few coins and my cell phone, my purse is still heavy. I rarely use the coins anymore.

At least a cc and any bills don’t load things down.

The more I think about this, though, the worse it gets. Just the idea of being able to SAFELY conduct a mutually beneficial buy/sell/trade. If the net goes down, just wow.

Actually, that post represents a bit of my personal two decades of OHI analysis of Iran's nuclear weapons sites. (Been monitoring development and construction of Fordo, for example, since 2005...)

It's surprising how tracking construction can inform decisions on "Where to drop 'em -- when the time arises" -- and "What to look for -- after you do..." '-)

Believe it or not, even quantitative tracking of the "pimple patches"...

I really don’t know how to begin this awful story. My mind is swirling with all the evil I just read. Earlier this evening, I watched an episode of Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack as the Host. It was episode 11 from Season 2. This story starts at the 26:12 mark of the 48 minute long episode. I also found this 8-minute from tictok that shows the entire segment.

This story has echoes of the power and influence of Hillary and the satanic manipulation and disregard for human life of Margaret Sanger. The Unsolved Mysteries episode deals mostly with the reunion of an adult woman with her family after she had been kidnapped at the age of two. I think the reunion was more than 30 years after the kidnapping. The character Georgia Tann played a minor role in the episode but there was enough of her part of the story to pique my interest.

Like others who are fawned over by the elites, Georgia Tann ran roughshod over the law in Tennessee from 1924-1950 and leaving in her wake blood and tears from thousands of victims; children and family members. The media and high society loved her because of all the “good” she did with her work at the well-known Tennessee Children’s Home Society; an adoption agency (in name only for it was actually a baby black market). She obtained babies to market by convincing poor single mothers to give their babies to her, let her tend to them to improve their health, then tell the mothers that their child had died and was already buried (sorry), she preyed upon mentally incapacitated and ill, some children were dropped off at a nursery school by parents to be told later that welfare agents had taken the children; a lie, sometimes, children were placed in an orphanage temporarily while parents dealt with illness or financial difficulty and the children would be “adopted out” with “lost” paperwork. Other children, including the lady from the Unsolved Mysteries episode were kidnapped. Tann forged birth certificates and other records to cover up her crimes.

She had a female assistant who essentially became her spouse that assisted with her crimes named Ann Atwood.

Tennessee had laws that prevented the selling of children so Tann focused on selling children to the wealthy elites in California and New York. $5,000 a child was a typical price. She also charged the adoptive parents $700 which was for a background check, which of course, was never implemented. All her legal paperwork was rubberstamped by a crooked judge named Camille Kelley. She was a piece of work also. Kelley was voted as “One of the six most admired and influential women in the world!” Sounds a lot like the phony moniker held by Walter Cronkite; “The most trusted man in America.” After the dam broke, an investigation was made into Kelley’s shenanigans as a judge, and she was allowed to resign her post along with a finding that she had committed no crime (right!)

There are charges that Tann allowed troublesome children to die of starvation. 19 of these children were buried in a 14x13 ft. plot in a local cemetery. She frequently ignored doctors’ orders to treat common illness and is believed to have allowed over 500 young children to die in her “care.” It is estimated that over 5,000 children were stolen and either sold in the black market or left to die.

During the late 1940s, her crimes were discovered and an investigation was opened. However, she died of cancer three days before charges were to be brought against her.

Some of her clients included Joan “Mommy Dearest” Crawford who obtained her two children from Tann, Hollywood couple Dick Powell and June Allyson, and New York Governor Herbert Lehman. One of her victims was wrestler Ric Flair whose autobiography starts with chapter 1 which was entitled, Black Market Baby.”

This is a story that deserves a well-publicized movie. There was a made-for-TV movie with Mary Tyler Moore playing the titled character. Its name is Stolen Babies,” and was released in 1993. Mary Tyler Moore won an Emmy for her role. It also stars Lea Thompson.

Wikipedia lists many other media sources, including four podcast stories/interviews since 2017 and eight books; all since 2007 and one as recent as 14 months ago.
