I like Cruise generally, but sometimes the ultra-cockiness grates. That’s why I’ve intentionally never seen a couple of his films. I’d recommend Collateral with him and Jamie Foxx for a very atypical Cruise film that I really liked. I’ve enjoyed the MI series and look forward to seeing it

I like Cruise generally, but sometimes the ultra-cockiness grates. Cruise's character in Mission Impossible movies is intelligent, creative, commanding and loyal to his team. Personally, I like the character. I don't see cockiness per se.

Yea well he wouldn’t even sign autographs for the sailors when he was in my ship for the filming of the first Top Gun. Kelly McGillis was easy on the eyes for sure, not so much now. She did sign autographs.

He was good in "Taps". Of course Timothy Hutton and Sean Penn (along with George C. Scott) were the main draws in that one.
