Correct answer.

Assume everybody is lying—and act accordingly!

I got one this morning, claiming to be from the NJDMV, claiming I have an unpaid traffic ticket. Real official looking, too.

But the country code on the sender’s phone number is 63...and I doubt that the NJDMV has outsourced their enforcement to the Philippines!

I tossed all that crap in the trash.

If it came in snail mail, you could have saved it for the police. Fingerprints and DNA, you know.

I use my smart phone constantly. I even used it before I retired on my daily commute to take not of traffic jams. It saved my butt literally dozens of times. And then there is the knowledge of the world, searchable, at my fingertips. And my Bible at church.

However, I have a “real” atlas, a 1950’s webster’s dictionary, and a REAL bible.

I used to work for one of the major phone carriers. I supported Law Enforcement Relations in an IT role. I learned a LONG time ago that if you are planning on doing anything nefarious, leave your phone at home. The phone give authorities the ability to travel back in time, almost literally.
