That size most likely a whale shark, but I still would make sure I stayed well away frim it.
Agreed - I have seen both in person and it looks much more like a whale shark.
It would be VERY strange to see a whale shark that far north. Almost unheard of.
It is much more likely it is a basking shark.
Or to a lesser extent, a great white.
