I love this country and I feel a deep obligation to paying back to it what it has done for me and hundreds of millions of people who lived before me. And I feel that it is MY time in history to do what many before me have done to put me where I am in this place and time.
But that doesn’t mean at this time to take up arms. If you want that, there will be time enough.
But not yet.
History is full of people who badly wanted the kinetic fight to come on, the sooner the better.
Then, after the extended misery and depredations of death, destruction, poverty, and starvation, could only sadly obsess on how to extricate themselves from it, forgetting that they had welcomed it, and even advocated for it.
I am not one of those people.
I am enough of a student of history to know that if the fight comes, one must fight, but only as a last resort.
I am already too old to “raise serious Hell”. But if it comes, it will come for me too, regardless of my age, and I will be faced with that choice of raising Hell, or having Hell raised on me.
I am a realist and cannot lie to myself either. Things are not rosy and they are not going to get much better. This country only has one chance left for a peaceful turnaround. A sizable third party put together in the next year and a half. Either take over the Independents, or a MAGA party.
We are at a time where even a lot of Centrist Democrats are waking up and tired of the wokeness, support Trump, and would come over if it was not labelled “Republican”. Enough numbers to scare the hell out of both the Republicans and Democrats in Congress.
But it will never happen. We are fat, spoiled, and lazy so the personal work and effort will not be put into making it happen. Along with the irrational undying loyalty to follow the GOP off the cliff just because they have an “R”.
