Anyone who ever thought it was possible to prevent Russia from taking over a country on their own border, and not a NATO country at that, seriously needs to have hear heads checked. There is zero long term ability to stop this short of US resolve to fight for them, and that will also never happen.

The comparison to Afghanistan is laughable because the ability to provide military support compared to that of the mountains in the middle east makes this a joke to even consider. If Russia were to take control they would kill with reckless abandon anyone that opposed them and wouldn’t GAS about it.

Russia is an inevitable victor and that’s just the long and short of it no matter how evil Putin is. Would NATO go to war for them? No but they would for Poland. Which is why Putin won’t attack them, but he will take back as much if Ukraine as he wants.

Three years and three months ago, anyone saying Ukraine would last longer than two weeks would have had their heads checked.

“but he will take back as much if Ukraine as he wants.”

He wanted all of Ukraine. He planned a two-week war and now he is driving Russia broke.

He is still in power thanks to the state-controlled media.
