Why would they? I doubt they need more land or resources. Maybe they want people who despise them under their rule, but it’s hard to understand why.

Why would they? They gave it all up in 1991. Why would they want all those troubles back? They could have easily taken Georgia and the rest of the Trans-Caucasus back in 2007, but they didn’t. Belarus and Kazakhstan are easy pushovers, why don’t they grab them? Because they’re not going to, that’s why.
