He wasn’t ill. Covid was a farce.
We’ll see about that
What good is it if it causes NOTHING to be passed?
They didn’t stick a sock in his puss through any of this.
They wouldn’t let him in the chamber would they?
Otherwise if he was there he would have voted against you can guarantee it.
I dont think he’s ever voted for any of their spending bills in 15 odd years
I think it’s a silly quibble/admonishment he was not in attendance
Since you're his social secretary, what was he doing that day?
I’m not questioning his vote. I am questioning his silence. As a doctor, he had a special obligation to speak out IMO.
It is my understanding 6.5 trillion in revenue is expected from tariffs over the next 10 years.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
That would be 650 Billion per year. 2.2T - 0.65 Trillion is $1.55T deficits, which doesn’t address the effect the consequent inflation would have on spending.
Tariffs are a fine thing. A great thing. They may drag manufacturing back to the US.
But they will not solve an unsolvable math problem.
It’s compound interest, people. This is why bankruptcy exists. There is no fix.
But there is also no such thing as a sovereign bankruptcy because there is no international court that is empowered to expunge debt like we have with our domestic bankruptcy courts.
A country can stand up and say . . . we declare our $31 Trillion expunged. We no longer owe it. By decree.
Holders of that debt will shrug and ignore it. No court expunged it. You can stand up and say . . . all that credit card debt I have . . . I declare it 0, by decree. I’ll do that without a bankruptcy court.
Think that works?
He allegedly caught it, or something along those lines
They probably wouldn’t let him in the chamber
IT was FIVE years ago
He has never voted for a reckless spending bill in 15 years. If he was kicking around he would have voted No just like he’s voting no on Trump’s bill
How is it cowardly to vote against a sitting president - a popular one at that - demanding his legislation and priorities be passed
Yes, very cowardly that! 🙄🙄🙄
You didn’t tell me what he was doing to miss the vote on the CARES Act.
Caught what? Diarrhea of the mouth?
Ask the physician of the US Senate. He allegedly had COVID and could not attend
He’s not and never has been a coward. You’ll see for yourself when he stands up and opposes the president on the floor of the Senate
Had he been around 5 years ago during that vote he’d do exactly the same
You’re pulling the one thing in 15 years he did not attend out of an impeccable record (and it likely not his fault )
A nonsense argument
Oh yeah, that will make him a big man alright. He's choosing the wrong hill to die on. But grandstand he must.
Rand Paul ==> A shameless self-promoter!!!
AS IT’S CLEAR THERE ARE HUGE NUMBERS OF OTHERS WHO STILL FAIL TO GRASP THE MESS THE DEMOCRATS & RINOS HAVE CREATED, PLEASE SHARE WIDELY.

As Department of Government Efficiency continues pursuing its mission, we are astonished to learn just how extensive the tentacles of the Deep State/Intelligence Community reach. It almost seems as if every ox in the country is getting gored, as Federal expenditures get examined.
Not just for the Federal workforce, but we are learning that thousands of seemingly innocuous business are now threatened by the coming restrictions in Federal money getting sloshed around. Universities are the obvious example, but accounting firms, IT firms, law offices, domestic and international charities and Big Pharma are beginning to scream that their livelihood is being shut off.
Who would have imagined how much of the Great American Public is totally dependent on the $7 trillion borrowed dollars that the Federal government has been handing out like candy? DOGE loses its public appeal as people begin to realize how it will impact them. As I have said repeatedly, waste, fraud and abuse have a substantial Democrat Party constituency. The Democrat Party and Congress have bought a lot of goodwill through free money for little return.
Making America Great Again is not as popular as it was earlier, when the first fraud and abuse were being identified. Now our citizenry is beginning to comprehend that President Trump and DOGE are serious. Well, that’s what they voted for. American Greatness does not flow from government handouts.

President Trump says illegal alien criminals must be deported. Democrats and Big News Media adamantly insist that immigrants commit less crime than native-born Americans. That is true, if you clarify you are talking only about LEGAL immigrants. They are so grateful to be welcomed in the country that they have little motivation to become criminals [Ilhan Omar excepted].
Illegals, on the other hand, are frequently criminals before they even arrive, coming from countries with a culture of violent crime. In border states, nearly half of all incarcerated criminals are illegals. Similar in Blue Hive sanctuary cities. It seems that people who break our laws to get here are not inclined to obey our laws, once they arrive.
The Democrat Party tries to conflate the law-abiding nature of legal immigrants as an excuse to oppose President Trump’s efforts to deport violent criminal illegals. And Big News Media are cheering them on. That is the nature of discourse in our country these days.

So when is Rand announcing he is really running for president ... the only way he can garner attention is to pee on US. Attention whore 101.
Owen-I wish to apologize to you for being so uncivil to you several weeks back.
I went back looking for something and saw our exchange. I disagree with your views on these things, but it was not right of me to come at you so hard.
You may not have deserved my agreement, but you did not deserve the harsh and uncivil treatment I sent your way.
I extend a sincere apology to you, and I hope you will accept it. If you don’t, I can accept that and move on.
Don’t sweat it. Nothing typed on blogs affects anything at all.
Thank you for saying so, but...it affects me. And, it affects you.
I try not to say anything online that I would not say to someone’s face, and in re-reading that, I didn’t live up to my own expectations.
So thank you.
