As for “meaning” in our lives, one of the greatest books I've read on that subject is “Man's Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. He was a Jewish Doctor/Psychiatrist who survived 4 death camps during WWII. The book details those experiences and how they led to his theory of Logotherapy to help people find meaning in their lives. An excellent read that also details life and death in the camps.
Because it allows them the power and means to get revenge against their enemies.

A large percentage of the people in charge, Government or private sector, are Sociopaths.
They want control because they see the rest of us as inferior and incapable of being in charge of ourselves let alone others.
They are completely without empathy and therefore should not be trusted with the reigns of power.
Maybe I’m slow, but I’ve wondered why the left always just jumps to the conclusion that conservatives think the way they do is purely because of ‘Faux News’. Especially when they don’t grasp the fact that the rest of the establishment media is just feeding them propaganda every day...including the ‘Faux News’ mantra.
Most leftists are not religious. The don’t go to Church. They are so far removed from any other source to shape their philosophical and intellectual opinions, the only source is leftist media.
So the only ‘logical’ conclusion, for anyone that disagrees with them, MUST be that it is because of any dissenting media, which is basically, only, ‘Faux News’....without even realizing that many, if not most, conservatives never watch it. They get their philosophy elsewhere, mainly the Bible - which is why they just want to declare what they’ve been repeatedly told, “the Bible has been debunked!!!”....when quite literally historians have shown the opposite. This is why they FEAR the word, they can’t debate the collective philosophy, so they must just label it ‘hateful intolerance’, as though not tolerating evil is bad.
Watch how they’re literally fixated on ‘Faux News’. It’s like a code word for “doesn’t understand the Bible”.
Article started off with the traditional lie. Liberalism is dead in the US. The “left” has been taken over, dictated to, by the woke arseholes.
This was easy for them since at their hearts the Demo party is filled to overflowing with bullies — people who think back fondly of how their ancestors owned slaves and was able to just go out and beat someone if they had a bad hair day.
Bullies pick on others who are weaker (e.g., kiddies, minorities, women, etc.). The only way to defeat a bully is to pop them and show them to be the cowards they are.
No one on the left is willing to do that. No one on the “new left” has any interest in that since THEY are the source of all that envy and hatred.

The Left wants power over others for no other reason than that if they have power over others, no one has power over them. It’s that simple and arrogant. It’s playground bully mentality.

I had a similar (but different) dilemma in my family history. My MIL, God rest her soul, was a dyed-in-the-wool, true blue democrap. She would take any opportunity to belittle or diminish me, particularly when her son (my BIL) was around, which, for a time, was daily. Always talking about me and how little she thought of me. Oh, I forgot 5o mention, she was living with us; she had become unable to live alone, and as someone who wanted to honor her husband (loads of respect for him) we brought her to our home for her last few years. Yeah, those were tough.

There are not many "Liberals" left in the Democratic Party. John Fetterman is one of them but they're trying to kick him out.

Before Obama, Leftists/Communists were one of the factions in the Democratic Party but they did not take over the party yet.

Realize that no matter how accomplished, disciplined , and skilled you are, each of us will eventually roll Snakeyes at the giant Craps Table of Life.
To the left, which feels instead of thinks, not being in ultimate control is abhorrent to them. They maniacally pursue power feeling it will bring them safety and security.
The Cosmic Punchline is that power is an illusion as well. You only have power over an individual if that individual grants it to you. Which is why the Left HATES Conservatives and Independents.
Because the left does not believe that all people are entitled to their natural rights and the only way to effectively deny those to some classes of people and make them dance to the left's tune is to seek and wield power.
