If any of these people were studying anything STEM, they would not have dared wasting a second by protesting during the run-up to finals. THAT would be a sure way to flunk out of school.

It's very telling, to me at least, how college and grad school are totally two-track: The fluffs who study urban anthropology and comparative literature, who can sit for finals and just fake it and pass, and the ones who study chemistry or physics, and who just might not pass even if they spent every waking minute studying.

Never the twain shall meet.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that there is an added degree of difficulty to passing and that it's not just inherent to the subject matter.
