Unlike too many politicians today, particularly democrats, Reagan had the ability to skewer the opposition without making it personal - and he frequently did it with humor.

That’s a typical Reagan joke and one of his best. It’s hilarious.

Thanks for posting.

I miss Reagan's humor and joke telling, he was the best and it made his presidency more human.

Nothing was ever funny about Biden or Obama - except "funny" as in strange or odd, or in Biden's case, mentally deficient.

I remember Larry Elder playing this on his radio show the day Reagan died "Ticket for Speeding in Moscow." It was great.

"In Russia, if you wanted to buy a car you needed to order it 10 years in advance and pay for it. So a fellow goes to order a car, brings his cash, stands in line.

The clerk says, “Very good comrade, you will receive your car on this day, 10 years from now”.

The man asks “In the morning or afternoon?”

The clerk responds irritably “Ten years from today, what difference does it make morning or afternoon?!”

“Well”, the man says, “the plumber is coming in the morning.”

This book about Reagan is “Reagan in His Own Hand”.

One interesting thing in the book is Reagan and contact lenses, he was one of the first people in the US to wear contacts:

Later in life, Reagan wore contact lenses. When delivering a speech he would remove one lens so he could read his notes and leave one lens in so he could see the audience. Thus, for those around Reagan it was common practice to see him re-inserting a contact lens after speaking.

Ronaldus Mangus had a comedian’s timing.

Jay Leno tells the story of having dinner with Reagan.
“Jay, did you do well in school?”, the President asked.
“No Mr President. Always low grades.”, Jay replied.
“Me too.”, said Reagan. “Had I only applied myself, I could have made something of myself.”
Jay goes on to say “He slipped the joke in. I didn’t even see that coming!! “
