Understood. But it was played ad nauseam, and was not up to his usual standards.

The funny thing is that Billy hates writing lyrics.

I lost a lot of respect for Billy because of the way he treated his band, especially Liberty DeVitto.
Billy owes a lot of his success to his band.

He’s one of the few performers who makes the live versions of his songs much better than the studio versions.
I didn’t particularly care for his early records, but Songs In The Attic really makes those songs so much better than the studio versions.

His is a rare talent. There's a good reason he was awarded the Gershwin Prize. His songs will no doubt become part of the Great American Songbook.

I wonder if his boxing hobby has anything to do with this?

That’s a Scott Joplin tune. Repopularized by the movie “the Sting” iirc. Did Billy Joel cover it?

It's a completely different song with the same title. Joplin's
The Entertainer is a piano rag that was a popular style at the time.

Thanks! I actually googled before commenting and the Billy Joel song didn’t come up on the first page of results. Not throwing shade on Billy Joel — that wasn’t one I remembered.

Not the deadly covid vaccines..no siree.
Note how many entertainers and sports people are dying off of various diseases since 2020 before their time?

Damn. He’s still got the voice. Almost spooky coming out of that body.
