I found driving in LA to be aggressive but predictable. What scares me is the highways in Dallas where 15 different drivings styles from 15 countries collide (sometimes literally) to create chaos.
In 1985 I bought a new IROC Camaro. Bbout 2 months after I got it, my friend who is a cop called me to meet him at a wrecking yard. The night before, there was a bad wreck between a IROC Camaro and an older Cab-over Peterbilt truck.
The Camaro went directly under the front of the truck. It killed all 5 passengers. decapitated 4, and the 5th was squished flat under the 2 in the back seat. What was left of the car was covered in blood and brain matter. About the only salvageable part was the left rear taillight. There was still a chunk of brain on the bumper of the truck.
The wrecking yard was just getting ready to hose down the vehicles when we left
I think that was one of the ones we saw..................
High Schoolers are now going on Spring Break?
Stupid kills...just not often enough.
It a $75 fine for not wearing a seatbelt in Florida in our county. It varies by county. Some counties it’s $100+...........
Highway 98 is a congested road, especially in that intersection area, not an open freeway.
I wonder what this writer would say about me in my high school days when I routinely ‘barreled’ down the freeway at 120+ mph when I got off work after midnight..........
++++++++
Better question is what are your thoughts looking back on your teenage adventures? I know what mine are. Similar stuff. 135mph in my 280Z; 140mph on my XS1100 Yamaha. Only by the grace of God.
I can attest to that for New Mexico.
Must have been airlifted to Massachusetts by the parent(s)...............
And in my HS driver's ed. class, the toughest jock in the school was the one who ran out and blew chunks during that film.
Not surprised. They were that bad...............
There were problems on his test asking how many foot-pounds of force was generated when a 3000-pound car hit a bridge abutment at 60 miles an hour.
Excellent approach!
Same in Ohio, but it was Signal 30. It can be found on youtube. It did make a difference - for an hour or two. You're right.
Being rich as little to do with it. You can get a 1996 Oldsmobile beater to go 110 mph.
Yes it is, Much like me teaching the bosslady how to “Feel” the weight of the car on the clutch (Whats dat?), I made her back up and stop with the nose of the car headed down hill. She got it in about 3 minutes...Never evaded the BIG hill on her way to work, again. She was going 2 miles out of her way LOL. We all have our talents. Mine was driving. Ran the road for 20 years. These folks down here who have broken signal indicaters. On my way to BJ;s the other day I counted 184 cars with broken turn signals
“I thought it was only me that notice that about Dodge Ram drivers. Cut you off, tailgate, never use turn signals, and often cruse through red lights.”
Nope. And it’s not your imagination.
Drivers of Dodge Rams are ticketed (on a per capita basis) at a far greater rate than any other vehicle. (Followed by the cheap 3-Series BMWs.)
Few fears as bad as your last voluntary act.
A buddy of mine and his wife live in Carlisle . Yep , it’s a wealthy area for sure .
very sad for the truck driver, probably just trying to work.
photo of the football player looks like he’s lacking some wisdom in ways other than driving
