Interesting. Nice workmanship. Finding things is part of the battle. Learning the story of artifacts is the other, bigger part. Very fascinating. When I was a kid I wanted to be many things; an archaeologist was one of them. I might’ve made less than I ended up making in machine shops, but it would’ve been rewarding.
Yup. North America tends to be kinda light in terms of surviving cultural remains, some of the Precolumbian cultures didn't even develop ceramics, still using gourds for everything, so nothing left behind but undifferentiated dust. And the ludicrous NAGPRA shouldn't have been passed in the first place, but should be revised or altogether repealed.
