Must have been a great experience for you... The Algonquin Round Table was also known as the “Vicious Circle”. No doubt a repartee free-for-all...

I visited the Algonquin on my last visit to NYC. The original round table and the room it was in no longer exist. They had a faux round table for the gawking tourists like myself though they don’t tell one it’s not the original.

I should I knew Nicky who was Noel’s last paramour well
Coward was of course before my time
Nicky was quite a blade and raconteur in his own right admittedly

My girlfriend then was a Caribbean heiress to the areas largest rum and beer and beverage fortune based in Kingston

They all know each other Caribbean aristocrats who overlap with the Brits

The essential Dorothy Parker is a good short read. I grew up on the new Yorker and have a shelf full of books about the era.

While not a fan of their lifestyles, I would have admired to be sitting around a piano lounge with Sir Noël Peirce Coward and Cole Albert Porter.

As a past competitor in a certain Nob Hill bar's games of 'Six Degrees of Separation", I recall Porter immortalized Dorothy Parker in one of his ditties (It Was Just One of Those Things"

I wouldn't be surprised if Porter dropped into the Algonquin...." now and then".
